Science Fair Projects Can Be Fun for You and Your Child

Oh no, it's time for the dreaded science fair project. But wait. Science projects are supposed to be fun.
And they can be, if you know the secrets to successful science fair projects, starting with choosing the right project for your child.
Here's 6 steps to help you choose a science fair project that will be fun for you and your child.
First things first. And that first step is to check out the science fair requirements and understand what criteria your child's project must meet.
Next, map out the timeline and important due dates. This will help you avoid the minute crazies and ensure that you don't choose a project that takes longer to do than the time you have to do it in.
Now, let's talk money. How much do you have to spend on this science project? Knowing what your budget is before you choose a project will ensure that you don't break the bank or encourage your child to choose something that really isn't possible financially.
Now that you have the criteria for the project figured out, it's time to get down to the brainstorming.
First, and most importantly, ask your child if they have any ideas. They may have already decided on something themselves, and then your job is a lot easier - you can just start helping them make it happen.
But if they don't have any ideas, then consider their interests. What are they interested in? What do they collect or think about, or talk about, or ask questions about? Your child will enjoy science a lot more if you do a project they are actually interested in.
Next, go online and search for a topic your child is interested in and "science fair project" or "science project", or head to the library and check out one or two of the great science project books you'll find there.
Scout out some ideas that meet your basic criteria of requirements, timeline, and budget, and share them with your child and ask them if any interest them. Or, even better sit down with your son or daughter and look through the choices together and discuss the criteria you are looking for together. You'll be spending some quality time with your child and have the benefit of teaching them how to find the information they need to get started.
Once you and your child pick your project, the next step is to get started - gathering supplies and putting together the project. Enjoy the process. Science is all about discovery - and it is fun!

The Wonder of Educational Toys to Your Child's Abilities and Personality

One of the main activities that a child can do during his or her younger years is play. Play enables the child to develop psychomotor skills that are expected for a certain age. When the child gets older, parents will see a big difference with the child's gross motor and fine motor skills and most especially the cognitive ability of the child. Children must be given the proper toys to nurture not only their physical well being but as well as their young minds. Educational toys can help mold your child's intellectual quotient (I.Q.) by just playing. Parents may not notice but the wonder of educational to your child's abilities can make a big difference later on his life. As a parent, you cannot predict what your child's level of mental ability or social skill will be when he gets older nor dictate the attributes you want him to be. The only thing that you can do is to provide the guidance and all their needs in order for them to discover things and build their skil...

Cost Saving Voice Technology

Generally speaking, business can be reduced to cost and revenue potential. Everything is a function of either one or the other. The production capacity of a manufacturing center versus the cost of operations and cost of goods sold is one example. In the modern business world, nothing ranks higher in importance or impact than an organization's voice technology. A voice technology that unifies an organization and integrates the necessary communication features including mobile voice can add up to a substantial line item in a business cost. However, there are voice technology options that can actually provide greater benefit to unifying an organization while helping to reduce technology and operating costs. The Cost of Connection Often, the actual cost of voice technology is not tracked in smaller companies as a separate expense class or line item. If this were the case, the numbers would clearly demonstrate that a small or medium-sized business has tremendous cost savings poten...

Making Science the New Gym Class

Ask any middle or high school student their favorite class in school, and 9 out of 10 will say gym. Or lunch. Or some may branch out and say history. But how many students would actually say science? Maybe 2-5 in an entire school? And these are probably the students who were pushed by their parents or some external source to do so and were born to end up in science-related fields. So how do we appeal to the other 400 students to at least consider science for their future? The easy answer: liven science class up! So why is science class so boring? The easy answer would be to point to standardized testing and high school curriculum that put pressure on teachers to develop classes that emphasize facts and laws. But science isn't about about facts and laws. In fact, most science "laws" that have been developed over the past several centuries have since been altered or even proved incorrect altogether. Do you think any high school students would know this? And why shouldn...
